CMC wanted a high strength aluminum carabiner that could reduce the weight of fire service
ladder belts. The resulting design is a multi-purpose, wide gate carabiner that is light enough
for mountain rescue teams and strong enough for general rescue use. The extra-large size
and wide gate opening allow the carabiner to fit easily over stretcher rails, anchor points,
cables, and posts, yet the weight is less than half of steel alternatives. Includes
